Engineering the software behind ambitious businesses.

Retail, Hospitality & Food

A digital front door that connects to how the business actually runs.

E-commerce, ordering, reservations, loyalty and customer engagement — integrated with POS and inventory so an online order is an operational event, not an email someone has to re-type.

Overview

The website is the easy half. The operational handoff is the hard half.

Plenty of hospitality and retail businesses have an ordering or booking page. Fewer have one that connects to the till, the kitchen, the stock count or the staff rota — so the digital channel creates work rather than absorbing it.

That handoff is where the engineering value sits: an order that appears where the team already looks, stock that reflects what has been sold, a booking that respects real capacity.

It is also where the honest conversation about scope belongs. A digital channel can improve discoverability, capture demand and reduce friction. Whether it increases sales depends on your offer, your operation and your market.

Who we build for

The teams inside this sector we work with.

01

Independent retail

Businesses selling across a shop, a website and marketplaces who need one view of stock.

02

Restaurants & food service

Operators handling ordering, collection, delivery and covers alongside a live kitchen.

03

Hospitality & venues

Businesses managing reservations, capacity, deposits and guest communication.

04

Local service businesses

Organizations where booking, quoting and customer communication drive most of the admin load.

Challenges

Common friction, and what we do about it.

Every engagement starts from a specific operational problem rather than a product we are trying to place.

Online orders are printed and re-entered at the till

Direct integration with POS or a kitchen display so an order arrives where the team already works.

Stock sold online is not reflected in store

A single stock position across channels with reservation at the point of order.

Bookings are taken by phone and written in a diary

Online reservations against real capacity with confirmations, reminders and deposit handling.

No-shows and late cancellations go unmanaged

Automated reminders, confirmation steps and a defined cancellation policy applied consistently.

Customers cannot be contacted after they visit

Consent-based customer records with communication and loyalty tied to actual transactions.

What we build

Capabilities that fit this sector.

01

E-commerce

WooCommerce and custom storefronts: catalogue, pricing, checkout, payments, fulfilment options and customer accounts.

02

Online ordering

Collection and delivery ordering with menu management, timing and kitchen handoff.

03

Reservations

Capacity-aware booking, deposits, confirmations, reminders and rescheduling.

04

Loyalty & engagement

Consent-based customer records, offers and communication linked to real activity.

05

POS & inventory integration

One stock position across channels with reconciliation and alerting.

06

Local discoverability

Search foundations, structured data, maps and reviews so the business can be found.

Artificial intelligence

Where AI earns its place here.

Applications with a credible return in this sector — each one wrapped in human review, defined data boundaries and an audit trail.

AI

Customer assistant

A knowledge-grounded website assistant for opening hours, availability, menu and service questions, with a clean handoff to a person when it does not know.

AI

Review & feedback analysis

Classification of customer feedback into themes, so patterns surface without someone reading every review.

AI

Demand-aware planning

Forecasting covers or order volume from historical patterns to support staffing and purchasing decisions.

Example solution architecture

Digital ordering wired into the operation

A customer-facing ordering or booking journey connected to the operational systems that already run the business: stock and pricing from POS or inventory, orders routed to a kitchen display or fulfilment queue, and capacity checked against the real rota. Customer records are consent-based and linked to transactions so communication is relevant rather than generic.

Questions

Straight answers.

It can improve discoverability, capture demand that currently goes elsewhere, reduce friction and support conversion. Whether that becomes revenue depends on your offer, operations, pricing and market — and we will not claim otherwise.

Many POS platforms offer an API or export mechanism. We confirm feasibility per system during discovery rather than promising integration before checking.

For standard retail, an established platform is often the better commercial answer and we will say so. WordPress with WooCommerce covers a large share of catalogue, ordering and booking cases at a fraction of the cost of a custom build, and we deliver on it regularly. Custom earns its place when the ordering or fulfilment model does not fit the standard mould.

Usually, yes — custom extensions, checkout and shipping logic, pricing rules, subscription or booking flows, and integration with POS, inventory or accounting. Replacing a working store is rarely the cheapest route to the outcome you want.

Payments run through established providers so card data does not enter your systems or ours. That is the correct default rather than a premium option.
