Connectivity is a design constraint, not an assumption.

A mobile app that only works with a strong signal is a demo. The interesting engineering is what happens in a basement, a warehouse, a rural route or a lift: what can still be captured, what queues, and what happens when two people edited the same record while offline.

We design for that first. Local capture, conflict-safe synchronisation, clear status so the user knows what has actually been saved, and a back-office view that reflects reality rather than optimism.

The second constraint is attention. Field users are standing up, wearing gloves, or between appointments. Screens have to be legible and thumb-reachable in three seconds.
